Hired to this position to manage all retail circulation goals of a group of Conde Nast titles.  Currently manage the following titles for both Conde Nast and the Golf Digest Companies; GQ, LUCKY, CN TRAVELER, GOLF DIGEST and GOLF for WOMEN; having previously managed Conde Nast’s BRIDES and HOUSE & GARDEN SELF

Responsibilities include: manage budgets, manage newsstand print orders, and manage all aspects of marketing and promotion.  Work closely with national distributor and major retailers. Prepare, issue, and analyze the results of field assignments issued by the national distributor.  Monitor single copy distribution of all titles, report and correct withholding, coordinate the realignment of the wholesaler and retailer network to insure proper allocation of copies.

Account Executive

Hired to this position to manage client publishers’ newsstand circulation goals.  Managed the company’s largest client publishers such as Air Age, Associated Publications, Crescent Publishing, Starlog Group and Weider.  Current and past titles include SOPHISTICATED HAIRSTYLES, COMPLETE WOMAN, HIGH SOCIETY, SHAPE, FLEX, MUSCLE & FITNESS, MEN’S FITNESS and JUMP.

Responsibilities include managing newsstand print orders for all titles.  Prepare, issue, and analyze the results of field assignments to staff of 90.  Monitor single copy distribution of all titles, report and correct withholding, coordinate the realignment of the wholesaler and retailer network to insure proper allocation of copies.  New product launches include development of sales strategies, formulation of initial newsstand distribution, creation of solicitation, marketing and sales materials.

Coordinate wholesaler and retailer promotion programs.  Work with Kable News marketing staff and publisher management to insure all sales opportunities have been recognized and successfully implemented.

 

Plan, coordinate and implement annual sales and management meeting.  Attendees have included Chairman of the Board, officers of the company, sales and marketing managers and major client publishers, including their highest levels of management.

Regional Market Manager, Single Copy Sales - 1986 to August 1993

Promoted to this position to manage the analysis and development of strategies and policies fourteen monthlies, a weekly newspaper and numerous yearbooks with total sales in excess of nine million copies annually.

 

Increased sales and efficiencies through direct contact with major chain buyers and wholesalers.  Developed a comprehensive monthly reporting procedure to facilitate planning with finance, circulation and editorial departments.  Enhanced management's high level of confidence in the Circulation Department and especially in the Single Copy Sales Division.  Coordinated wholesaler and retailer promotion programs resulting in greater product visibility and increased sales.

 

Responsibilities included management of marketing and distribution for the Northeast corridor including Florida and Canada.  This included the analysis and reporting of sales and implementation of publishers’ goals and strategies with national distributor and wholesalers.

Hired to this position to design and develop publisher managed in-house Retail Display Allowance Program.


Designed and managed computer based Retail Display Allowance System leading to greater management control over contracting, payments, audits and budgeting.  Developed highly successful telemarketing program aimed at "direct-to-retail" sales.

Assistant Director, Marketing and Circulation - 1978 to 1980

Promoted to this position to establish and manage an in-house Retail Display Allowance Program.  Assisted the Circulation Director in sales analyses and preparation of ABC Publisher Statements.  Coordinated promotional incentives with major chain store buyers, magazine wholesalers and national distributor.

 

Circulation Assistant - 1976 to 1978

Hired to this position to audit national distributor's processing of returns.  Uncovered discrepancies in wholesaler crediting and obtained large publisher credits.
