Distribution Manager                                                                                           2000-2009

Directed the distribution and mailing operations for a premier national daily newspaper with a circulation of more than 60,000 subscribers.  Maximized printing plant efficiencies and improved delivery.  Reduced costs through transportation negotiations.

·         Managed printing plant operations and supervisors at printing plants in Harvey, IL, Bellmawr, NJ and Redwood City, CA.  Responsible for the training of new printing plant personnel.  Improved performance through regular communications and new processes such as the development of a Supervisor Responsibilities document.

·         Managed delivery to more than 50 U.S. Postal Entry Points throughout the country, working with hundreds of postal employees from Area Vice Presidents to Mail Clerks.  Consistently improved delivery through face-to-face meetings and out-of-the-box ideas such as special newspaper containers, new transportation routes and critical entry times specific to The Christian Science Monitor.

·         Supervised a national transportation system involving more than 20 transportation vendors.  Wrote and edited transportation contracts, working closely with transportation vendors.

·         Created and distributed daily, weekly and monthly transportation reports to management that detailed improved delivery in a concise, easy to understand manner.  Helped develop the CSM tracking system which detailed all transportation information from printing plant to subscriber.
